TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State sand volleyball team enhanced its 2015 team with the addition of incoming freshman Breana Edwards. She becomes the fourth recruit to join the Seminoles this year and will add depth to an already deep roster.
A graduate from Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Fla., Edwards is a 6-foot-3 attacker who started and lettered in all four years of high school. She helped lead Bishop Kenny to back-to-back State Final Fours her junior and senior seasons.
Edwards was a member of the JJVA Indoor Volleyball club team from 2008-13. She earned a bid to the 2013 National Championships at the Florida Regional Bid Qualifier and the 2012 National Championships at the Big South Qualifier by winning first place in the National Division.
After participating with the USAV Beach High Performance A2 Team in 2013 and 2014, Edwards took park in the USAV Beach High Performance Transition Week in Hermosa Beach, Calif., this year.
The Jacksonville, Fla., native has more to offer than just her talents on the volleyball court. She graduated Manga Cum Laude, was a member of the National Honors Society and is a musician and dancer. She hopes to make it on the AVP Pro Tour after her tenure at Florida State and one-day play at the Olympics.
Edwards joins fellow incoming freshmen Vanessa Friere, Meghan Conway and Tory Paranagua to round out the Seminoles 2014 class.
