FSU Baseball Ranks In Preseason Polls

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State baseball will open the 2009 campaign ranked in the top 25 in five preseason polls including four polls that position the Seminoles in the top 10.

The highest ranking garnered by Florida State came at No. 6 courtesy of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Among the other polls ranking the Seminoles in the top 10 are Collegiate Baseball (No. 7), USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ Poll (t-No.9) and Rivals.com (No. 10). Baseball America rounds out the 2009 preseason rankings with the Seminoles grabbing the 24th spot in the poll.

Highlighted by an appearance in the College World Series last year, the 2008 Seminole Baseball team finished the season ranked as high as No. 7 in the country.

Florida State opens the 2009 season on Friday, February 20 with a four-game home stand against the Hofstra Pride.
