TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – Florida State’s Daniel Davidson has been named ACC Pitcher of the Week following his performance in the Seminoles’ 8-1 victory over No. 13 Clemson on Sunday. This marks the second time in 2003 the senior left-hander has garnered this recognition. He was named Pitcher of the Week following his outing against Virginia on March 17.
Davidson earned his sixth win of the season to remain undefeated in his Seminole career (12-0). This weekend he pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out seven and allowing no walks. He completely shut down the Tiger offense as he faced just two batters over the minimum and struck out All-American first baseman Michael Johnson three times. Davidson has 48 strikeouts to only nine walks this season and is holding opponents to a .199 batting average.
The Seminoles will host Jacksonville on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and travel to Miami this weekend, April 18-20, for a three-game series.
