AUBURN, Ala. – The Florida State men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up their final meet before the ACC Outdoor Championships Saturday night in Auburn, Ala.
Competing in the War Eagle Invite, many of Florida State’s top women’s distance runners made the trip to Auburn’s campus.
In the women’s 800m run, Violah Lagat came extremely close to setting a new personal record with her time of 2:06.99 in a third-place finish. Amanda Winslow (2:10.13) was seventh, Jessica Parry (2:10.64) was ninth and Christal Washington ran a 2:16.40.
In the men’s 1500m run, Matt Leeder earned a second place finish on a time of 3:50.79.
Kevin Williams also placed 15th in his event. He did so in the men’s 400m dash on a time of 48.37. Pablo Navarrette ran a 49.26 and Terill Gibson a 50.45.
Maxwell Hyman then posted a 55.58 in the men’s 40m hurdles. Nicholas Russo ran a 57.62 in the men’s 400m hurdles.
The ACC Championships start April 21 in Durham, NC.
