TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State men’s and women’s cross country teams will travel to Terre Haute, Ind., to compete at the NCAA Pre-National meet on Saturday. The women will run the 6k-course at 12:35 p.m. and men will compete in an 8k-race at 1:50 p.m. The Pre-National meet will give the top teams in the nation an accurate idea on where they stand among the nation’s elite.
The Lady Seminoles, which have received votes in the latest national poll and are only three votes out of the top 30, will compete against 11 top 30 schools and three additional squads that are receiving votes. Five of the Lady Seminoles’ opponents are ranked in the top 10, Standford (No. 2), Michigan State (No. 3), N.C. State (No. 6), Arizona State (No. 8) and Arkansas (No. 10).
The FSU men, who are ranked third in the NCAA South Region, will compete against 10 nationally ranked teams and four additional teams that are receiving votes. Colorado (No. 3 nationally), Georgetown (No. 7) and Weber State (No. 9) will pose the toughest competition.
