TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s volleyball team dropped the North Carolina State Wolfpack in three games tonight, 15-11, 15-10, 15-8, to move to 16-9 on the season. The Lady Noles defeated the Wolfpack for the second time this season.
“I thought we had a good team effort all around tonight,” FSU head coach Cecile Reynaud said. “We went back to Jamie Hibbard at setter to try to get the middle back in our offense that we seemed to be lacking the night before against UNC. I thought Hibbard played well and added a dimension to our offense.”
The Tribe came away with a strong performance on the night, collecting a team .315 hitting percentage. Norisha Campbell led the way in that category with 13 kills for a team-high .417 hitting percentage. Kristin Frye added 11 kills with 12 digs, while Dawn Hough added 10 kills for a .261 percentage. FSU hit .345 in the first game, with 27 kills and only eight errors. In game two FSU hit .310, followed by a .267 percentage in game three.
“Jen Werrick played well, collecting 17 kills and 15 digs,” Reynaud said. “I think collectively we had a good team effort to come away with the win. We look forward to returning home to play our next two matches in Tully.”
The Seminoles return to Tallahassee to face off against Virginia and Maryland in Tully Gym on Oct. 27 and 29.
