FSU Football Continues Spring Workouts

March 23, 2000

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State Seminole football team continued spring drills on Thursday with a 20 period split practice in full pads. The defending National Champions spent the first ten periods of practice doing individual work on the Ed Williamson practice fields, before moving to Doak Campbell Stadium for the last ten periods of practice to work on team drills. Florida State finished practice with five periods of goal line drills.

“It was a crisp scrimmage,” said Florida State Head Coach Bobby Bowden. “There were some good plays there, both offensively and defensively. The consistency was not there for either one. Like the last scrimmage, the defense dominated for the first part of practice, but I’d say the last third of practice the offense started pounding some in. There really was some good contact out there today.”

The play of the day goes to DB Clevan Thomas, whose interception was returned 30 yards for a touchdown. LB Kendyll Pope and DE Darnell Dockett also turned in quality defensive performances.

INJURY REPORT: NO NEW INJURIES.

The Seminoles will not have practice on Friday, March 24th. The Noles will return to practice on Saturday, March 25th, with a 10:00 a.m. practice in Doak Campbell Stadium.
