In their college preview issue set to hit newsstands June 12, The Sporting News is predicting another ACC Atlantic Division Championship for Florida State. The magazine is predicting a 10-2 mark for FSU and has the Seminoles ranked 11th in its pre-season Top 25. Three Seminoles are ranked in the top 10 at their position nationally in the magazine. Andre Fluellen is rated as the fifth-best defensive tackle in America, Myron Rolle the No. 8 strong safety and John Frady the 10th-best center. Seven Seminoles were named pre-season All-ACC. The only first team selection was Fluellen. Frady, Antone Smith, Greg Carr, Geno Hayes, Tony Carter and Rolle were all named to the second team. Additionally Smith was named the fastest running back in the ACC, Xavier Lee was named the QB in the ACC with the strongest arm and De’Cody Fagg is the conference’s most physical receiver.
COACH STROUD SITS DOWN WITH SEMINOLES.COM
Todd Stroud, FSU’s new strength and conditioning coach for football, sat down with Seminoles.com least week just days after his hire. The former Seminole chatted about being back in Tallahassee, working with a coaching staff he has numerous ties to and his philosophy when it comes to strength training with the football team. UAB TV ANNOUNCED
The ACC released an updated TV schedule Monday morning and the Seminoles’ game versus UAB has been picked up by ESPNU. The first home game of the season is slated for a 5:00 p.m. kick-off. This is the fourth game FSU game that has been picked up by ESPN so far. The Seminoles will play Clemson, Colorado and Wake Forest on the network’s flagship station.
