The Seminoles are coming off a 74-68 home win over Wake Forest on Wednesday, their fifth win in seven games. Junior forward Ron Hale bounced back from a six-point outing at Duke to lead FSU with 21 points…In his last four games, Hale is averaging 20.5 points on 30-of-54 shooting (55.6 percent). He leads FSU in scoring at 16.1 points per game…Damous Anderson and Adrian Crawford both came off the bench to score in double figures against Wake. Anderson scored 11 points and Crawford had 14. Florida State’s reserves are averaging 20.6 points per contest and have produced 16 double figure scorers…The Seminoles outrebounded Wake Forest 26-16, the first time they have beaten their opponents on the glass in eight games. The Tribe’s rebound margin in ACC games (-3.7) ranks eighth in the league…FSU’s 4-2 start in ACC play is its second best since joining the league in 1991-92 and is topped only by a 5-1 start in 1992-93.
The Wolfpack are coming off a 77-65 non-conference win over Wofford at home on Wednesday. Sophomore Ron Kelley came off the bench to lead State with 20 points…Freshman Adam Harrington is the ‘Pack’s leading scorer at 13.8 points per game. He had 15 off the bench against Wofford…After opening the season with 10 wins in its first 13 games, NC State has dropped three of its last five overall and three of its last four in ACC play. At 2-4, State is tied for fifth in the league’s standings…State is hitting 49.1 percent from the field on the year and is making 38.5 percent from three-point range. The ‘Pack are also outrebounding their opponents by 9.2 per game.
Saturday’s game marks the 24th meeting between Florida State and North Carolina State. The Seminoles own a 13-10 advantage in the series, which dates back to Dec. 1, 1955…FSU swept the regular season series from the Wolfpack last season but NC State got a measure of revenge by winning in the opening round of the ACC Tournament…Florida State won 68-55 in Raleigh on Jan. 3 and 64-52 in Tallahassee on Jan. 28. The ‘Pack took the tourney game 65-63 on March 5…The Seminoles are 11-6 against NC State since joining the ACC in 1991-92 and are a perfect 7-0 versus the ‘Pack in the Leon County Civic Center.
