FSU Hosts Successful Seminole Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — North Florida shot a final round nine-under par,
279 to win the sixth annual Seminole Classic at Killearn County Club today.
UNF’s three-round total of 11-under, 853 was nine shots better than
runner-up Mississippi State (862).

Host Florida State posted a final round eight-over par, 296 to
finish in 11th place with a three-round total of 891.

Alex Rocha of Mississippi State captured the individual title by
shooting a final round 69. His three-round total of eight-under par, 208
was two strokes better than day one leader Chris Wisler of East Tennessee
State. Derrick Centers of Tennessee was third at five-under, 211.

Florida State’s top finisher was junior Mark Donaldson. He closed
with a 73 today to finish in a five-way tie for 12th place at one-under
par, 215.

“I thought our team played well today,” said Seminole head coach
Dr. Ernie Lanford. “Mark had a solid day today and an excellent
tournament. I was also very proud of the way Kris (Hannah) fought back
today. He showed a lot of character.”

Hannah, FSU’s No. 1 player entering the tournament, matched
Donaldson with a team-low 73 today. He carded an 80 and a 76 yesterday.
