The Florida State women’s basketball program is very serious about volunteering in the community and giving back to the city of Tallahassee.
From spending time at retirement homes to hosting food drives and book-reading initiatives, the Seminoles care about their town.
Recently, the FSU players, coaches and staff members spent some time with the Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Department, where they hung out with youth football and basketball players.
“It was unbelievable experience for the kids and their parents,” said Brian Smatt, who is the Athletic Supervisor for the City of Tallahassee-Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Affairs department. “For the kids to get the chance to see the involvement of the women’s basketball program and get to spend some time with them was tremendous. Coach Sue and her staff were great and we are so appreciative of their efforts.”
