Godfrey, Ill. – Florida State’s rising men are representing the United States and Taiwan during the 2006 USTA Pro Circuit Competitions this summer at the Lewis and Clark Community College.
Rising sophomore Maciek Sykut (Marathon, Fla./ Marathon HS) advanced to the second round on Wednesday, July 26, after qualifying into the main draw. He defeated Canada’s Mikhail Lew in a close match 7-6 (4), 6-4. Sykut is facing United State’s Matt Roberts today, Thursday, July 27.
Sykut teamed up with Russia’s Andrey Kumantsov in doubles competition and fell to China’s Xin Yuah Yu and Shao Xuan Yu in an extremely close battle 6-3, 6-7(6), 4-6.
Rising junior Sam Chang (Young-Ming, Taiwan/ Delray Beach American Heritage) fell to United State’s Sheeva Parbha 2-6, 3-6 in the first round of singles play.
Sykut continues to play this week at the 2006 USTA Men’s Futures Tennis Tournament hosted by Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Ill.
