FSU Men’s Tennis Member Xavier Luscan Defeats No. 12 Player In The Country

FSU men’s tennis member Xavier Luscan advanced today to round two of the men’s singles action at the ITA All-American Championships. After receiving a bid into the main draw of action Luscan won three straight matches to advance to today’s singles competition. Luscan defeated the No. 7 seed of the tournament in Ohio State’s Phil Metz. Metz is currently ranked No. 12 in the ITA Singles rankings, while Luscan holds a ranking of No. 81. The win over No. 12 Metz is the highest win for an FSU Seminole under Head Coach Dwayne Hultquist.


In second round action Luscan fell to Baylor’s Benjamin Becker, 6-1, 7-6.
Luscan will now return home and prepare with the FSU squad for the annual Seminole Fall Classic to be held Oct. 19-21 at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Admission is free.
