TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State University’s women’s cross country team received three votes from the Women’s Cross Country Coaches Association, while the men’s squad received two votes from the United States Cross Country Coaches Association in the latest national rankings released Tuesday, October 2nd.
The Lady Seminoles’ three votes in the WCCCA poll currently places them in a tie at 31st with UC-Irvine, an one vote behind Atlantic Coast Conference and Southeast Region rival Duke. The men’s two votes in the USCCCA poll places them in a three-way tie at 32nd with Minnesota and Washington.
The votes come on the heels of an impressive weekend where the Lady Seminoles finished second, and the men finished fourth, at the Auburn University Invitational. Junior Vicky Gill took first-place for the women and earned ACC Performer of the Week honors for her run.
The Seminoles will return to action on October 13th, when they travel to Greenville, S.C. to compete in the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet. For more information on the FSU cross country team, please visit www.fsutrack.com.
