TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State volleyball team has moved back into the No. 17 slot in this week’s AVCA Division I Coaches Poll.
After dropping from its school-record tying No. 17 ranking to No. 19 last week, the Seminoles (15-2, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) jumped two spots this week after wins at Wake Forest and Duke.
“We had a great weekend and the team was rewarded for beating Duke on the road,” FSU head coach Chris Poole said. “We can only control our side of the net and how well we play each week. We just need to continue working hard and the polls will take care of themselves.”
Florida State has the opportunity to move even further in the polls next week and potentially break the record for highest ranking in program history if the Seminoles can earn wins at Maryland and Boston College.
FSU plays the Terrapins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and against the Eagles at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Monday’s poll announcement by the American Volleyball Coaches Association was the third newsworthy item of the day for FSU.
