FSU Opens 2003-04 Track and Field Season With Meet at Clemson

The Florida State men’s and women’s track and field squad aim to head to Clemson this weekend and start the journey to become an NCAA qualifier. Coming off a 2003 season that saw the Noles win rookie of the year honors, event conference and regional titles and one individual national championship, Florida State is ready to embark on the journey under first year head coach Bob Braman. Braman was named in the offseason to the position after longtime Tribe coach Terry Long retired after 19 seasons as head coach and over 50 years of affiliation with the Seminoles.

“The purpose of this meet is to give the traditional track and field events a chance to compete as a conclusion to the fall training season. Rather than waiting to start at the in January, we’re trying to get a jump on the season. We have he opportunity to get used to a facility we’re going to visit often before the students hibernate for exams,” said Braman.
