FSU Practices For Eight Periods In The Rain And Finishes Up Indoors

Oct. 18, 2007

Tallahassee, Fla.With just one day left to prep for its showdown with the Hurricanes, the FSU football team was forced indoors yet again on Thursday. After moving practice up almost two hours to beat the weather, the Seminoles got through about eight periods in a driving rain before lightning caused a stoppage. After trying to wait out the dangerous weather, the team broke up into units and either watched film or walked-through in the turf room.

DT Justin Mincey

On making his second career start

“I can’t really describe the feeling, I know that I just need to keep going hard and getting better.  At this level, if you take a day off you’re not going to be starting.”

What his first start was like against Wake Forest

“I had my composure, I had to go out and do my job.”

On his intensity

“I’ve got to give it all I’ve got.  Just go hard and play every snap, try not to take any snaps off.  If you take a snap off you’re not yourself anymore.  I’ve got to keep going hard and fight every snap.”

OL Daron Rose

On Miami‘s pass rush

“Calias Campbell is one of the best if not the best defensive ends in the country.  He’s a tall lanky guy who gets off the edge and they’re really stout in the middle, really quick.  They’ve got a lot of guys over there.”

On the offensive line making a statement

“This is Florida State and Miami.  They’re going to come in here jacked up and we’ve got to have energy and go beyond that.”

On the rivalry

“Not only is it Florida State-Miami, it’s an ACC game.  It doesn’t matter where we’re ranked it’s still an ACC game it’s still Florida State-Miami.”
