TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The FSU Relays held its final day of competition this afternoon at Mike Long Track. Florida State athletes collected several individual and relay titles in today’s events.
For the FSU women, Ayana Townsend recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying mark as she won the 400m hurdles in a time of 58.75. The Lady Seminole 4x100m team continued to run impressively as they improved on their NCAA provisional qualifying mark from yesterday’s prelims. Nakeya Crutchfield, Zuzette Mullings, Teresa Bundy and Tonya Carter took first place in the event this afternoon at 44.72. The FSU women’s sprint medley relay team of Carter, Crutchfield, Samantha George and Laura Gerber also won an FSU Relays title with a time of 3:53.91.
The men got first place finishes from Steve Augustine (400m hurdles, 52.57), Christian Bland (high jump, 7-0.50), Mario Lowe (triple jump, 50-3.50) and Joseph Lawrence (discus, 182-4). Additionally, Jayson Jones took second in the 100m dash at 10.70 and Jason Dean was second in the pole vault with a mark of 17-0.75.
The Florida State track team continues their outdoor season next weekend at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, FL.
