Tallahassee – The Florida State men’s and women’s track and field squads completed day one of the FSU Relays on Wednesday afternoon, March 17, 2004 at the Mike Long Track Complex. The heptathlon and decathlon events started today and will finish up tomorrow.
Sophomore Deanna Lane is in the lead with 941 points. Lane finished first in the 200m dash in a time of 25.30 and the 100m hurdles in 14.27. In the high jump, Lane posted a third place finish with a mark of 5’3.25″. Sophomore Kate Purcell, also competing in the heptathlon, threw 38’2.75″ in the shot put to finish third.
The Seminoles continue the multi-day event with the garnet hammer and shot put beginning at 9:00 a.m.
