FSU Releases 2006 Cross Country Schedule

July 28, 2006

Tallahassee, Fla. – The Florida State men’s and women’s cross country teams have announced their schedule for the 2006 season. Florida State will open the season on Sept. 1 at the Appalachian State Invitational in Boone, N.C. The Seminoles will then hold their annual charity event the “Across the State Relays” on Sept. 16. To wrap up the month on Sept. 29, FSU will head to the prestigious Notre Dame Invitational then they will return to Tallahassee to host the FSU Invite on October 7. The Seminoles will then get into the bulk of their season with the NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet, Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, NCAA South Regional Championships and NCAA National Championships.

“The schedule by design has almost no racing in September,” said head coach Bob Braman. “We have the Appalachian meet which is mainly for training and then we don’t race again until the last weekend in September at Notre Dame. Our schedule virtually begins in October. It sets up nicely for us to focus on training in September, racing in October and peaking in November.”
