Atlanta, GA—College softball’s Top 27 players have been selected in the 2005 LPFA Tour College Senior Draft and Florida State pitcher Casey Hunter was chosen as the 14th pick.
Each player included in the LPFA Tour inaugural draft “has had tremendous success over their college career and will fit in very nicely with our business strategy”, said Tom McCarthy, President and CEO. “I want to thank our network of scouts who worked tirelessly evaluating these players and communicating with their college coaches and sports information directors” continued McCarthy.
Hunter, a 2005 USA Softball Player of the Year Watch List member, said she plans to keep her post-collegiate playing options open. She’ll make a decision on her future upon graduation.
NCAA guidelines prohibit contract discussions between professional organizations and college-eligible athletes. In keeping with those guidelines, the LPFA Tour will be offering contracts to its drafted players immediately following the conclusion of their respective seasons.
