TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After playing just five games in the last 13 days, the Florida State (19-6) baseball team returns home to host Texas Tech (20-8) on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Both games against the Red Raiders are set to begin at 6 p.m. The Seminoles, who are 15-3 at home this season, secured the series after losing a pair of home ACC contests with NC State on March 26-27.
It will mark the fifth ranked opponent that Florida State has faced this season. The Red Raiders ranked as high as 19th in both the Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball polls this week.
Meanwhile, the Seminoles moved into the top 10 of the Collegiate Baseball (5th), National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (7th), USA Today/ESPN (8th), D1baseball.com (9th) and Perfect Game (10th) rankings announced earlier today.
In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, Florida State head coach Mike Martin will send right hander Drew Carlton (4-1, 3.49 ERA) to square off against Texas Tech lefty Erikson Lanning (1-2, 7.32).
The midweek series concludes when FSU’s Cole Sands (3-2, 2.92 ERA) clashes with Ty Damron (2-1, 6.04).
