FSU Sets New Season Records

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State men’s and women’s track and
field teams took part in the Snowbird Invitational Saturday. Six Seminoles
posted personal season best times at the meet.

Senior Jayson Jones posted a personal season best time of 22.34 in
the 200m dash. Jones’ time is the second fastest 200m dash time for the
Seminoles this season. Chris Williams knocked more than a second off his
time in the 400m dash finishing with a mark of 48.35. Josh Ware posted the
second fastest time of the season for the Seminoles in the 3,000m run. His
mark of 8:59.03 also set a personal season best time for the senior from
Ft. Meyers, FL.

The Seminoles also had a strong day in field events at the Snowbird
Invitational. Freshman Jessica Chaplinsky set a personal season best in the
high jump with a mark of 5’03.75″. Mario Lowe’s personal season best mark
of 6’08.0″ in the high jump was the second best jump for the Seminoles all
season. Gary Visser also set a personal season best with a mark of
19′.09.50″ in the long jump.

The Seminoles wrap up the indoor season next week and take part in
the second outdoor meet of the season. Select members of the Florida State
track and field team will head to the University of Arkansas March 10th
and 11th for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Those Seminoles not making the
trip to Arkansas will be competing in the FAMU Relays in Tallahassee.
