TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Head Coach Neil Harper and head diving coach Patrick Jeffrey announce the signing of 12 swimmers and one diver that will join the Seminoles in the fall of 2011. In total Florida State signed six athletes ranked in the top 150 in the nation and seven athletes who are ranked in the top five in their respected states.
“We are graduating some great athletes, but we believe that the quality and quantity of this class has the potential to fill that void,” Harper said. “I want to thank our assistant coaches for doing their homework on the these kids and we think this group will be some of the best student-athletes in the country that can enhance and improve our team over the next few years. This class is going to be the cornerstone of our team for years to come.”
Florida State would like to welcome six women; Katie Cook (Tampa, Fla.), Kaitlyn Dressel (Jacksonville, Fla.), Virginia “Ginny” Grams (Daytona Beach, Fla.), Grace Hoffman (Jacksonville, Fla.), Elizabeth Pepper (Poolesville, Md.), Haley Powell (Mooresville, N.C.),and seven men; Josh Friedel (Fredericksburg, Va.), Harrison Brogden (Greensboro, N.C.), Tyler Fozkos (Valparaiso, Ind.), Ford McLiney (Kansas City, Mo.), Doug Ramos (Miami, Fla.), Kevin Rogers (Raleigh, N.C.), Juan Sequera (Miami, Fla.).
