FSU Soccer Defeats Syracuse 3-2 at Nike Classic

ATHENS, Ga. – Senior Lauren Lynch scored the final goal for Florida State
as the Seminoles defeated Syracuse 3-2 at the Nike Classic on the campus of
University of Georgia this afternoon. The Seminoles scored twice in the
final 19 minutes of the match, clinching a spot in the championship game
against Georgia at the new Georgia Women’s Soccer Stadium.

The Seminoles took the early lead when freshman Maren Vik Edvardsen
scored off a cross from senior Alex Osorio at the 9:15 mark. Syracuse then
scored two goals before Vik Edvardsen scored again to tie the match at 2-2.
Lynch then scored the winning goal off a cross from Osorio with six minutes
left to play in the match.

FSU improves to 2-0 and will take on Georgia (2-0) at 2pm on Monday after
Central Florida battles Syracuse at noon.
