FSU Swimming & Diving To Open 2001-0-2002 At Home Against Miami On Saturday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State University swimming and diving team will begin its 2001-2002 campaign at home against in-state rival Miami Saturday October 13, at 9 a.m. at the Bim Stults pool located on the FSU campus. The men hold a 27-15 advantage in the series, while the women are 13-11 against the Hurricanes.


This year’s squad returns an all-American in senior Christy Cech, who finished fourth in the 50-meter freestyle at the 2001 NCAA National Championships. Junior Devin Crock returns as the defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion in the 100 butterfly. The diving squad returns two ACC champions in sophomores Chelsie Lerew and Josh Edelman who both swept the 2001 titles in the one and three-meter events.
