FSU Tennis Programs Gear Up for Fifth Annual “First-Serve” Kick-off Banquet and 2007 Season

The Florida State tennis programs will host their fifth annual “First Serve” kick-off banquet at the Tom and Ginny Futch Ballroom on the third floor of the University Center Club on Jan. 26, 2007. The banquet will begin at 7 p.m., with a social cocktail hour from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.


The banquet provides an opportunity for attendees to enjoy a meal with the Men’s and Women’s teams and fellow supporters of FSU tennis. Coaches from both teams and other proponents of the programs will speak to the attendees.
According to the banquet’s event planner, Chelsey Green, the event is a way for the community to show support for the tennis teams and start the season with excitement and momentum.


“We’ve had an increase in participation each year, with around 500 people in attendance last January. It is our goal to have 550 people at the upcoming 2007 banquet, so our players will fully feel the support of the Tallahassee and Florida State University communities behind them as they begin new tennis seasons,” stated FSU Men’s Head Coach Dwayne Hultquist.


“Our players love the chance to dine and get to know the people who devote their time to cheering in the stands during the matches–and the banquet is the perfect opportunity for these connections to be made,” said FSU Women’s Head Coach Jen Hyde.


Prices for the banquet are $25.00 per person, $250.00 for a table of ten, or $500 for a business table of 10 (priority seating and a mention in the program will be awarded to the business tables). For more information please contact Green at cmg03h@fsu.edu or 850-644-1738.
