TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State will host Notre Dame Oct. 18, 2014, the Atlantic Coast Conference revealed Friday morning.
News of a ‘Noles versus Fighting Irish showdown at Doak Campbell Stadium next season was included in a larger announcement confirming Notre Dame’s ACC opponents from 2014-16 as part of the agreement between the South Bend, Ind. program and the conference.
Notre Dame will play four ACC teams in 2014 and five ACC teams during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
FSU and Notre Dame will be meeting for the eighth time when the two storied programs meet next October. The ‘Noles have won the last two matchups in the series, with the most recent triumph being an 18-14 win in the 2011 Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
News that Florida State will officially host Notre Dame next year only adds to already stellar 2014 schedule for the reigning ACC Champions. After starting the season against Oklahoma State in a highly anticipated neutral-site game at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlkington, Texas, the Seminoles home slate of games now includes dates with Clemson, Florida and Notre Dame.
