FSU Track & Field To Open Indoor Season On Saturday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State head coach Terry Long will lead his men’s and women’s squads into Gainesville, Fla. Saturday, Jan. 18, to open the 2003 indoor track and field season at the Florida Intercollegiates. This year’s indoor season will consist of 11 meets, the 2002 ACC Indoor Championships and end with the 2002 NCAA Indoor Championships, which will be held in Fayetteville, Ark.


The Florida Intercollegiates will consist of six field events and 18 track events for both men and women. FSU’s competition will come from 28 universities and colleges from every division in Florida, such as Florida, Miami, Jacksonville, Florida A&M and UCF.


Competition will take place at the O’Connell Center on the University of Florida’s campus. Field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the weight throw and will conclude at 3:30 p.m. with the shot put. Track events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with the 3000m run and will conclude with the 4x400m relay at 6:35 p.m.
