TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – In light of predictions by Florida State University meteorologists and other hurricane experts that Hurricane Georges is likely to cause only rain and gusty wind in the Tallahassee area Saturday afternoon, FSU officials announced Friday morning that they expect the home game between the FSU Seminoles and the University of Southern California Trojans to be played as scheduled at Doak Campbell Stadium at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
In the event that the university is advised of a change in conditions, it will review this decision.
Law enforcement officers from the City of Tallahassee, Leon County Sheriff’s Department and FSU Police Department remind fans to be wary of parking in areas near the stadium that are prone to flooding. Fans are asked to heed officers’ directions and to pay close attention to brightly colored signs posted by police in certain parking areas.
Officers caution that people should not drive on barricaded, flooded streets and should not drive through standing water.
