The Florida State Lady Seminole volleyball team is preparing for their final two regular-season home matches. The squad will first host ACC No. 2 North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. UNC enters the match with an overall record of 20-6 and 12-3 in the ACC. FSU is coming off of a win against the University of Central Florida improving their record to 13-11 and 8-6. Senior send-off for Florida State will be held prior to Sunday’s match against NC State (6-19, 1-14).
North Carolina is currently in second place in the ACC with a 2001 record of 20-6 and an ACC record of 12-3. Two members of the Tar Heels are averaging at least four kills and three digs per game, Nicole Reis and Laura Greene. Reis (4.54 kills, 3.02 digs per game) leads UNC in kills, and Greene (4.07 kills, 3.74 digs per game) leads the squad in digs. In the teams first match-up of the season the Lady Seminoles took the then undefeated Carolina team to five games before losing the final game of the match by only two points. FSU leads UNC in the all-time record 21-11 and hope to come back on the Tar Heels with a win at home.
The final game of the season for the Lady Seminoles will be against ACC rival NC State. This will be the last regular season home game for the three Seminole seniors, Luana Ruiz Azevedo, Norisha Campbell and Elizabeth Pound. NC State enter action on Sunday following a loss to North Carolina and with a record of 1-14 in the ACC. Earlier in the year FSU took the win 3-1 over the Wolfpack.
