The Florida State Lady Seminoles travel to North Carolina this weekend where they will face ACC opponents UNC and NC State. FSU will face UNC on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Carmichael Auditorium in Chapel Hill, and will then face NC State on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum.
FSU enters weekend action against North Carolina with a 4-7 overall record and 2-2 record in the ACC. The Lady Seminoles are heading into action off of a two-match win streak against ACC opponent Virginia and Miami, both 3-0 shutouts.
The Lady Seminoles are currently led by senior standout Norisha Campbell following outstanding matches against Virginia and Miami. Campbell leads FSU in kills (191), hitting percentage (.338) and total blocks (50). Junior Alex Sevillano is the team leader in digs with 136 and 3.24 per game. Jennifer Anderson is off to a stellar sophomore season notching 534 set assists on the year.
Florida State goes up against the Tar Heels leading in the all-time series record 21-10. North Carolina will enter action on Friday evening with a perfect 5-0 record in ACC action and an 11-3 season record. The Tar Heels are led by junior Laura Greene who has tallied 205 kills on the season along with 181 digs. Sophomore, Nicole Reis leads UNC in kills (208) with 3.92 per game.
When facing NC State in action the Lady Seminoles lead in the all-time series record 17-5 overall. The Wolfpack enters action against the Tribe with an overall record 5-7, and 1-4 in the ACC. NC State will face FSU following a three-match losing streak to ACC foes, Duke, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech. The Wolfpack is currently led in kills and digs by senior Charece Williams with 180 kills and 4.29 per game and 109 digs.
Following weekend action in North Carolina the Lady Seminoles will return home as they take on FAMU at Lucy McDaniel Arena at Tully Gym on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 p.m.
