TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The No. 16 Florida State women’s basketball team will return to action this Sunday at 2 p.m. when Jacksonville State comes to the Donald L. Tucker Center.

The Seminoles (7-1) have not played since the Dec. 4 victory at Western Carolina and now that final exams are complete will host a Gamecocks (2-5) team that has lost five ballgames in a row.

FSU is led in scoring and rebounding by junior forward Cierra Bravard. The Sandusky, Ohio native’s averages of 14.5 ppg and 8.6 rpb are both career highs.

Jacksonville state is paced by Brittany Wiley’s 11.7 ppg.

QUICK HITTERS

• FSU has never played against Jacksonville State. The ‘Noles are 10-6 all-time against programs from the Ohio Valley Conference with all six losses taking place against Mercer in the 1970s and early ’80s.

• True freshman Lauren Coleman played in her first game as a Seminole in the win over Western Carolina after sitting out the first seven while recovering from a knee injury.

• The Seminoles continue to be a terrific rebounding team and currently boast a staggering +119 rebounding advantage through eight games, which is sixth-best in the nation.

• Saturday’s game marks the second of three doubleheaders the women’s team and men’s team at FSU will play this year. The third one is next week when UCF comes to town.
