TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 23 Florida State women’s basketball team answered its first two-game losing streak in two years by rattling off back-to-back wins over Florida and Stetson.

Now, the Seminoles (11-3) head to Columbia, Mo. to take on Missouri (8-4) Sunday at 3 p.m. ET at Mizzou Arena. Fans can follow along with the radio broadcast on 100.7 FM in Tallahassee and on Gametracker is also available.

FSU senior point guard Courtney Ward heads north just eight tallies shy of her 1,000th career point. If she accomplishes the feat on Sunday, she will become the 24th player in FSU history to register that many points in a career.

• Florida State travels to play at Missouri after halting a two-game losing streak with back-to-back home wins over Florida and Stetson, respectively.

• Under head coach Sue Semrau, FSU is 5-8 in the first game of a new calendar year.

• By defeating the Gators earlier this week, FSU avoided its first three-game losing streak since the 2003-04 season.

• The Seminoles and Tigers have met just three times with Missouri holding a 2-1 all-time edge. The last time that the two squared off against one another was last season when Mizzou came to Tallahassee and was defeated, 73-66.

• In last year’s FSU-Missouri game, former ’Nole Jacinta Monroe posted a team-high 12 points while current Seminoles guard Christian Hunnicutt poured in 10. Courtney Ward contributed seven assists in that win.

• FSU heads in to its 15th game of the year on the heels of two excellent games in terms of efficiency and production. Against both Florida and Stetson, Florida State registered more assists than turnovers. Against the Hatters, the Seminoles posted a season-best 25 assists.

• Florida State will be on the road for its next contest as the team will open conference play with a tilt at Virginia Tech on Jan. 6.
