TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The No. 14/18 Florida State women’s basketball team will play host to No. 20/23 Vanderbilt on Sunday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Center as part of the Super Six Series.
Tip-off is slated for 2:06 p.m.
The Seminoles (3-0) are coming off a victory Thursday night against Colorado State in a game that saw them set the new school record for most home wins in a row at 12. In order to add to that total, the ’Noles must face a Commodores (2-0) team that has also started the year unblemished.
Vanderbilt defeated Samford in its previous contest.
FSU is led by junior forward Cierra Bravard, who has been a strong force in the middle to start the year. She enters Sunday’s ACC-SEC showdown with a double-double average. In addition to leading the team in rebounds, she is second in scoring.
The Commodores are led by a terrific freshman in Stephanie Holzer, who, like Bravard, is also averaging a double-double.
Fans that come to the game against the Commodores are encouraged to bring a canned good with them. All of the canned goods will be donated to the Tallahassee community to help feed the less fortunate.

• FSU is 25-92 all-time against teams from the SEC. In addition to Vanderbilt, the only other SEC program that the Seminoles have never faced is Arkansas.
• Florida State will be looking to bounce back after its first lackluster second half of the year when it played Colorado State. Despite leading by as many as 32 points, the Seminoles allowed the Rams to get back in the ballgame and only one by 11 points.
• After playing Vanderbilt, FSU heads to the Bahamas next week for the Junkanoo Jam.
