FSU Women’s Tennis Defeats North Carolina State

RALEIGH, N.C. — The No. 20 Florida State Seminoles defeated
host NC State, 8-1, in women’s tennis action March 26 at the Wolfpack Tennis
Complex. Florida State improved to 14-4 overall, 4-1 in ACC, while NC State
dropped to 4-8, 0-4 in the ACC.

Alida Gallovits lead the way for Florida State with a win at No. 1
singles
over the Pack’s Loni Worsley, 6-0, 6-2 and also at No. 1 doubles, 8-5, as she
teamed with Nanette Duxin to defeat Myrna Bawono and Brie Glover.

FSU senior Kia Asberg rebounded from a loss to Wake Forest on
Saturday that snapped her 13-match winning streak and defeated N.C. State’s
Kristen Nicholls 6-0, 6-1. FSU’s Jessica Balbuena won for the third match
in a row against N.C. State’s Brie Glover at No. 4 singles. Balbuena was
the only Lady Seminole to go undefeated over the three-match weekend road
trip.

Florida State will return home to face the 11th-ranked Duke Blue
Devils on Wednesday, March 29th. Match time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at
the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
