TALLAHASSEE, Fl. – The 33rd ranked Florida State women’s tennis team will travel to Coral Gables, Fl. to play the 40th ranked Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, February 24th at noon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. Florida State stands at 3-3 for the season while rival Miami enters the competition with a 5-2 record. On Sunday, February 25th at 11:00 a.m., the Seminoles will take on another ranked opponent as they visit No. 37 Florida International University.
The match between FSU and Miami marks the 14th meeting between the two schools as Miami leads the all-time series 11-2. The Lady Seminoles defeated the Hurricanes 5-1 in Tallahassee last season and head coach Lise Gregory is hoping the team is ready to repeat against her Alma Mater.
“It is definitely going to be a tough battle,” said Gregory. “The good thing is that the girls have had ten days to prepare for these matches, and they are excited to play both Miami and FIU.”
Upon their return to Tallahassee, the women’s tennis team will prepare for another match on the road as they are scheduled to play the University of South Florida on Wednesday, February 28th at 2:00 p.m.
