FSU Women’s Track and Field Retreat

Tallahassee, Fla. The Florida State women’s track and field program traveled to Spirit of the Suwannee Park near Live Oak, Fla., to participate in a season-opening retreat on September 18, 2005. The group organized the retreat for the first time during the Braman era as a way to connect before the season gets underway. The event was open to every member of the track and cross country squad as well as coaches and support staff.

The Seminole women took a bus to Spirit of the Suwannee Park near Live Oak, Fla. One of the first activities involved interviewing team members and introducing them to the crowd. More team building exercises followed helping the group of almost 50 women get to know a little more about their teammates.

After an obstacle course and team challenge, the group had free time where they could swim, play and horseback riding. The group canoed for an hour down the Suwannee River before eating dinner. The group set goals as individuals and for the team for what they wanted to accomplish this season. They created a team cheer before their post-dinner entertainment (a step show performed by some of the team members).
