#FSUGolf Ends Round One in Mexico at Fifth

LOS CABOS, Mexico. (Seminoles.com) – Two Seminoles in Cristobal Del Solar (-4) and Rowin Caron (-2) finished under par in round one of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate as Florida State Men’s Golf is in fifth place at even par.

The challenging course at Los Cabos Querencia proved to be anything but for Del Solar on Sunday, as the Chile native shot a 67 to tie for second among all individuals at the tournament. Del Solar strung together five birdies to just one bogey, and has shot under par in five of his last seven rounds played.

Del Solar’s 4-under score is his lowest round of the year.

Caron, a senior from the Netherlands, shot a 2-under 69 to tie for seventh among all individuals in day one. Caron matched Del Solar in par-4 scoring, shooting 2-under on the day with an average score of 3.82.

Senior Hank Lebioda and redshirt sophomore Harry Ellis each shot 3-over 74’s, while junior Josh Lee finished the first round with a 5-over 76.

USF leads the field with a 10-under 274, followed by Baylor (-9), California (-3) and Georgia (-3).

Florida State tees off in the second round on Monday at 11 a.m./9 a.m. ET. All five student-athletes will tee off on different holes.
