Dear Seminoles fan,

FSU/MIAMI FOOTBALL GAME RESCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 10

September 2, 2004

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State athletics department confirmed today that the college football game between Florida State and Miami scheduled for Monday, September 6, in the Orange Bowl has been rescheduled for Friday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m. in the same location. The game will be nationally televised by ABC.

“Postponing the football game is the right thing to do,” said FSU Director of Athletics Dave Hart. “The game will have the same appeal on Friday night that we witnessed leading up to the month of September. It remains in a prime-time nationally televised window which could not have been the case next Saturday. The Florida High School Athletic Associations’ understanding and cooperation regarding this exception to our collective stance in opposition of playing our conference games on Friday nights is much appreciated. I hope the game will ultimately provide a temporary outlet for anyone who might be negatively impacted by the approaching storm. At this time all of our focus, thoughts and prayers are with those who might be in the path of the storm.”

The last time Florida State rescheduled a game was in 2001 when the home game against Georgia Tech scheduled for September 15 was rescheduled for December 1 following the terrorist attacks on September 11th .
