TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State University head cross country coach Bob Braman and the cross country team presented a check worth $2,800 to the Refuge House of Tallahassee Wednesday afternoon at Mike Long Track on the FSU campus. The money was raised by the cross country team when they ran a total of 140 miles across Florida in the Across the State Relay on September 7th.

“This [donation] will go directly to the operation of the shelter itself and the accompanying services that provide direct help to our clients,” stated Refuge House representation Kathy Bye. “It’s a real privilege to see the students participating and volunteering for a service like ours.”

The Refuge House is a domestic abuse shelter for Leon and the surrounding seven counties. Besides serving as a shelter, the Refuge House provides numerous counseling programs, courthouse assistance and various children services.

Those interested in making a donation or volunteering their time to the Refuge House should call (850) 922-6062 for more information.
