FSU’s Jarad Moon Named ACC Player Of The Week

Sept. 18, 2000

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Center Jarad Moon was named ACC Offensive
Lineman of the Week for his performance in Florida State’s 63-14 win
over North Carolina. Moon is the third Seminole to win ACC Player of
the Week honors as Chris Weinke and Tommy Polley were recognized last
week.

Moon, a 6-4, 300-pound senior from Panama City, Fla., graded out
a team-high 91 percent in FSU’s win over the Tar Heels. Moon also led
the team with 5.5 pancake blocks and did not have a bad snap or allow a
sack. He directed a Seminole offensive line that paved the way for FSU
to roll up 540 yards of total offense, including a season-high 194 yards
rushing.

Virginia wide receiver Billy McMullen (wide receiver), Georgia
Tech defensive end Greg Gathers (defensive line), Virginia outside
linebacker Byron Thweatt (defensive back), Duke punter Brian Morton
(specialist) and NC State’s Philip Rivers (rookie) were the other ACC
Players of the Week.
