Florida State football’s director of strength & conditioning Jon Jost was named a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). The honor is the highest that can be acheived by any strength & conditioning coach and Jost is now just one of 36 MSCC’s in the world. The honor represents professionalism, knowledge, experience, expertise, as well as longevity in the field.
In order to be honored with the MCSS title, candidates had to meet the following criteria:
1) Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree;
2) Currently practicing, full-time strength & conditioning coach on the collegiate level;
3) Member of the CSCCa;
4) Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified by the SCCCa;
5) Full-time, collegiate, and/or professional strength & conditioning coach for a minimum of 12 years.
Jost has been the director of Florida State’s strength & conditioning program since 2001. Before coming to Tallahassee, Jost worked at Nebraska, Holy Cross and Southern Methodist University.
