Florida State University’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Gainesville, Fla. Friday November 16, to take on in-state rival University of Florida at 4 p.m. The No. 25 Lady Seminoles (5-1, 2-1 ACC) are looking to earn their first victory against the No. 8 Gators. The FSU men (5-1, 2-1 ACC) are going for their 23rd-career dual meet victory against the Gators, who rank 11th in the nation.

This weekend’s road trip will conclude in Orlando on Saturday morning when the Seminoles take on Indian River Community College. The men are 14-1 all-time against IRCC and the women are 14-3. IRCC is the defending junior college national champions.

The men are led by junior freestyle sprinter Nnamnse Ammons, who has won four-straight 50 free events, and freshman diver Louie Gagnet, who has placed first on the one and three-meter events in the last four dual meets. Gagnet broke the 30-year old school record on the three-meter board with a score of 363.85 against James Madison on Oct. 20.

On the women’s side, sophomore diver Chelsie Lerew has broken school records on the one (303.80) and three-meter (317.39) events. All-American Christy Cech remains undefeated in the 100-yard free, and freshman Jennie Lyes has been victorious in her last four 50-free events.
