Nov. 23, 2008
Florida State at Maryland – November 22, 2008
Safety Myron Rolle had started 32 consecutive games before tonight … but it was for a good reason. The junior was in Birmingham, Ala., today where he was named a 2008 Rhodes Scholar. He is the third FSU student, and second student-athlete, to earn the prestigious honor in the last four years. Rolle, who learned of the honor at approximately 5:25 p.m. and arrived at the stadium at 8:34 p.m.
“It was a very exciting day and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to study at Oxford. This was a great experience and I will remember today for a lifetime.”

The Seminoles scored both of their first half TDs in the second quarter which is typical for this year’s team as FSU has scored more points in the second quarter this season (now 119) than any other quarter.
