TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Team Garnet used two big run producing innings in the fourth and fifth innings to claim an 8-1 victory over Team Gold on Wednesday afternoon on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium.

Mike Compton (Branson, Mo.) and Boomer Biegalski (Tallahassee, Fla.) got the Garnet team off to a good start as the two right handers held the Gold team to just two hits in the first four innings. Compton went 2.0 innings allowing two hits and two walks, while Biegalski threw 2.0 hitless, scoreless innings in relief as he walked one and struck out two to earn the win.
Gage West (Tallahassee, Fla.) led the Gold team with two hits in three plate appearances, while Hayden Kelly (Inverness, Fla.) manufactured the Gold team’s only run with a solo shot to right in the fifth.

Wells drove in the first run of the game with an RBI single to left scoring Dylan Busby (Sarasota, Fla.) from second after he reached on a fielder’s choice. Timmy Delph then laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt to plate Nick Graganella (Tallahassee, Fla.), while Walls brought home the third run of the inning on his triple to right.
Kelly cut the Gold’s deficit to 3-1 as he led off the top of the fifth with a solo home run. The junior first baseman took a 2-2 pitch from Dylan Silva (Lake Worth, Fla.) over the fence in right.
The Garnet squad came right back with five more runs in the bottom of the inning off Taylor Blatch (Stuart, Fla.) for the winning margin. Graganella drew a bases loaded walk to drive in the first run of the inning, while Timmy Delph pushed across his second RBI of the game as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Chris Marconcini (Brentwood, Tenn.) followed with a two-out infield single to third and Sansone drove in two more on a single through the left side.
