First, I would like to take this opportunity to extend deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Devaughn as well as any other who had the priviledge of coming in contact with him. I am still shocked and saddened by the loss of this great athlete and even better friend.
I remember Devaughn from primary school; he was always the one to cheer you up and was guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Devaughn was one of my closest friends in primary school, and I remember all the track meets I got to share with him and Devard. Even if I wanted to, I could not think of a single negative thing I remember about Devaughn.
This came as a great shock to me because just last month I e-mailed both Devaughn and Devard at their school email addresses in an attempt to get in contact with them, and no later than this Friday afternoon I spoke of all the great times I remembered having with them, and how I felt so bad missing their goodbye call. But despite the fact that I did not talk to them personally in a while, I always asked their older brother about them.
However I implore all of you to, instead of letting grief get the better part of you, find comfort in the memories that Devaughn left behind. Personally, I thank God for blessing us all with Devaughn. This serves as a reminder to us all that we should never take friends and family for granted, and should never hesitate to tell them we love them, because we never know when they will be taken from us, as tomorrow is promised to no man.
Devard I want you to remember that you have always been in my thoughts and prayers, and will continue to be.

I am one of Devaughn’s primary school friends from N.C.A (In the Bahamas)and it hurts me very deeply to know that he is gone. The news came as a shock to me and will remain as one. But I will always remember the friendship that people can have and keep even as little people. My prayers go out to his family especially his twin Devard and to his friends. To the Darling Family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers during your time of sadness. I can not imagine how you are feeling at this time, however, I do know that losing a love one is devastating. Please know that your son is resting in the palms of a mighty God and that he is in control at all times. My prayer is that you will find peace in knowing that you are not alone at this time. May God put His loving arms around your entire family and bring you peace and comfort you need to endure this time of sadness. God giveth and He taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Darling family, the team and the FSU community. Darling was a true warrior and we must gain strenght knowing that he is in a better place.
Devaughn and family,
I am thankful that I got to see you and your brother play on the same field together. I know Devard will carry on your name with pride. You were a great young man, and the lord took you too early. However, you will never be forgotten and always in our prayers.
Gabe (Raleigh, NC)
Everyone who’s heart Devaughn touched is a better person for it. I am certain that this enrichment will live on in his family, teammates, and friends. To Devard, who empitemizes all three, know that your brother will be right there at your side forever, picking you up when you are down and smiling proudly when you acomplish those goals you both set out to achieve.

Father in the name of Jesus the CHRIST the son of the Living God. Thank you for you provision we declare joy and peace of mind into the souls of Mr. Devarghn’s Family & Friends in Jesus name. AMEN! I pray that this Prayer touch and win the precious souls of his family and friends into your kingdom. In Jesus mighty name. AMEN! If you are now saved and you would liked to be saved, Repeat this; Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God had raised him from the dead You shall be saved. That is believing his death, burial, and resurrection not incarnation. When he rosed, he said we must worship him in the Spirit and Truth. After his resurrection all power was given unto him in heaven and earth.
According to Matt.28:18; Incarnation simular but the Anti-Christ is the only man is given power to reincarnate. But Christ Resurrection is when Christ rose in the Sprit while the mortal body was put to death. If you believe what you’ve just read, Repeat this. Thank you for your salvation now I have long life in earth as it is in heaven Matt 6:10. AMEN! I am Saved.

I got the chance to see him play twice this past year and he signed an autographed a shirt for me and was a great guy. WE MISS YOU DEVAUGHN!

We don’t always understand God’s master plan, and times like these
should make us all stop and take a good, hard look at ourselves and
what we classify as “important” and “not important.” I just want to
tell the family of Devaughn that their son was one of the most
pleasant students I have had the pleasure of seeing in our Theatre
building when he would come to class. He always had such a big
smile, and would always make a point to say “hi.” I will remember
Devaughn always for that. I wanted you to know-because…..that’s
I would also like Devard to know that my family
and I will include him in our prayers everyday. As part of the
campus family, I hope my smile will brighten someone’s day the
way Devaughn’s did mine. Devard, my door is open to you anytime.
Ralph Jones (New York, NY)
I would like to send my condolences to the Darling family. I know the lost
is hard, but Devaughn is still with you. You have to always remember that.
Amy, New Jersey
All Seminole hearts broke at the tragic loss of Devaughn Darling. Don’t ever think we care more about football than our student athletes who play football. Those of us who only knew Devaughn as #53 can only imagine the pain of those who lost a son, a brother, a friend. Please know that Seminoles everywhere are thinking of you in your time of need.
Our family shares your sorrow and we mourn with you, may God bless and keep the Darling family, Coach Bowden, Staff, Football players, and the entire FSU student body.
Marleni Young, Tallahassee FL
I hope that this loss can somehow be understood by the family and friends that remain. I pray that you will look to God for his guidance and understanding in this time and let Him show you how to grieve for the loss. If there is anything I can do, or the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries), please let us know. We want you all to know that this will be a rough road to take and we want to be of help. We will keep your family in our prayers and our hearts. Devaughn will always be remembered for the pure fact he was a Seminole, and that membership will never die. Again, if there is ANYTHING that we could help with just let us know. (222-2605 Dir. Mark Robinson)

I hear his name all over the news in houston and i want to say he was the best linbacker in the year 2000 and his brother was a good wr too so god bless his family and friends who knew him.
Michael Thomas – Atlanta, Georgia
I have been very close to the football program since 1981 and remember when we lost two others including Pablo Lopez when I was still in school. This is even harder to deal with because of the fact that DeVaughn was a special player to our program because he came in with his brother and was going to play 4 years at FSU side by side with him. Very little words can comfort his family at this time, and I can only hope that he will be part of the team next season. God Bless his Parents and his brother who I hope can continue on and always have a part of his brother with him during his time at FSU. I hope that you will honor him in the some of the same ways such as Bo Kimble honored Hank Gathers at LMU. He will always be a part of the Seminole family and our thoughts and prayers will be with all of his family and friends.
Minister M. Hudson Dallas, TX
If you are not in Christ Jesus, you never know when you are leaving this earth. That why it is good know that you are saved and apply the WORD of God to your life. This brother was young. This was not his time to leave.
The world said you never know your number or God called him home. But I am here to let you know that, that is false accusation and very controdictive to the WORD of God. (According to:)
Psalm 91:15-16 HE SHALL CALL UPON ME, AND I WILL ANSWER HIM: I WILL BE WITH HIM IN TROUBLE; I WILL DELIVER HIM, AND HONOUR HIM. WITH (LONG LIFE) I WILL SATIFY HIM, AND SHEW HIM MY SALVATION.

May God look over this family and the Seminole team and coaching staff and may He comfort them with his love as he prepares a place in Heaven for this young man. May God place his hand on their heavy hearts and lift them up and help them to carry on and be strong in him and to keep the memory of this young man alive and well in each of their minds and hearts. We ask you Lord to bless this family and team and comfort them in this time of grief, for in Jesus Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

I would like to express my condolences to the Darling family and the entire FSU family. I have been a Seminoles fan for past 15 years and I am shocked about this tragedy and I know in my heart that the Lord needed another linebacker in heaven to help fill out his team.
