What’s the most surprising thing you’ve experienced at college so far?
I’m surprised with how good of friends we are – the freshmen. We all became best friends really fast. I knew we’d be close, but I wasn’t expecting to become best friends with them. I only knew Victoria (Daddis), because she lives near me, but I hadn’t met anyone else.
If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be?
I would say Patrick Star because he can be stupid and it is just funny.
How has the transition been from high school to college?
It is what I expected. I think I had a pretty good idea of how it was going to be here, so it is honestly not as overwhelming as I thought it was going to be. I like college better. It is a lot more intense, because everyone here wants to win. That’s cool to be around and something that is definitely different from high school.
If you were to write a novel, what would it be about?
Probably food. That’s the only thing I like. Honestly, it would probably be scary things about fast food. Really surprising and interesting facts about food.
Do you have any pets?
I have four dogs. It is really interesting when you try to walk all four of them at the same time. They are all big and strong and just pull you around.
What does a normal day look like for you?
Usually working out in the morning, then class and then I usually come and eat at Moore with some of the players. Then back to class until practice. After that, I’ll usually go to study hall or do my homework in my room. Then go to dinner. Maybe take a nap in there somewhere. That’s about it.
Is there a fashion trend that you are embarrassed to have taken part of?
I used to do the “one nail different color” thing. Yeah, that’s really not cute anymore. I don’t get it, I just always did it. It was on your ring finger, and the color had to be completely different. Like purple on that one and then teal on the rest. I don’t know why or what it was supposed to signify – it was supposed to be cool.
What made you choose your major?
Right now I am in Media Communications. I was originally in Business, but when I came for my orientation, I went to the Communications presentation and I would like to do things like sports information, so that seemed like a better major to pursue.
What made you choose Florida State?
It was the first school that I visited for softball. I really liked the coaches, and so I loved it for softball first. But then I toured the campus and loved the school, too. So everywhere else I went, either the softball was good and the school was bad, or the school was good and the softball was bad. So FSU was the perfect combination and has worked out well.
What was the last big risk you have taken?
I would probably say coming here (to Florida State) because it was different for me, being a walk-on. I could have gone somewhere where I would have been more secured on the team. But I decided to come and try it and see how I do.
