TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Throughout the fall, Seminoles.com will take a closer look at this year’s class of newcomers. The ninth ‘Getting To Know’ segment features freshman midfielder/defender Carson Pickett from St. Johns Country Day School in Fleming Island, Fla.

Florida State welcomes 12 new players in 2012 including 11 freshmen and one transfer. Two student-athletes joined the Seminoles a semester early enrolling during the spring 2012 semester, while this year’s class also includes four international players.

Where has been your favorite place to visit?
New York City

Who is your biggest role model?
My parents

U.S. Women’s National Team

What kind of pillow pet do you have and what is its name?
It’s a bear and it’s rainbow colored and its name is Bobo

Biggest soccer moment?
Winning states three times in high school

Favorite athlete?
Donovin Darius – he used to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars

What is one thing you can’t live without?
My phone

Why did you choose Florida State?
It was the perfect distance from home and the coaching staff is one of the best in the nation. The girls are all really nice and I knew it would be a place that I can get better.
