TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Throughout the fall, will take a closer look at this year’s class of newcomers. The first ‘Getting To Know’ segment features senior midfielder Dria Hampton, a transfer from the University of Oklahoma.

Florida State welcomes 12 new players in 2012 including 11 freshmen and one transfer. Two student-athletes joined the Seminoles a semester early enrolling during the spring 2012 semester, while this year’s class also includes four international players.

Los Angeles, California

Who is your biggest role model?
My dad

Favorite soccer team?

What kind of pillow pet do you have and what is its name?
I just got a new one and it’s off the movie Cars. It is red and black and its name is Tommy

Biggest soccer moment?
My sophomore year at the 2010 Big 12 Tournament semifinals, we are playing Texas A&M, who were ranked No. 5 in the country, of course Oklahoma was the big underdog. We went to overtime and I had the assist on the game-winning goal, two minutes into double overtime.

Favorite athlete?
Lionel Messi

What is one thing you can’t live without?
My family

Why did you choose Florida State?
I know that I will have a chance to win a national championship
